a short summary before I forget…
day 1(Fri): arrived @ 9pm, walking up and down sloane street but ended up having room service because I didn’t sleep for 20 hours
day 2 (Sat): woke up at 7am, checked up on cody (ip cam) and went back to sleep. Went to borough market and had a chorizo sausage sandwich, grill cheese, wheatgrass juice and too full for fresh oyster. Came back for F1 qualified and went to harrods for tea when bko napped. Lounged around in Hyde Park. Dinner @ Boxwood Cafe
day 3 (Sun): woke up at 6am(!) and ended up watching top chef 5 and made me wanna cook (!!), had lunch at the pantechnicon rooms with suresh & gf, back to hotel to watch F1 (and won 50quid from Hill. Yay to Rubens Barrichelo) went to bricklane but was overwhelmed by all the crowds, went to selfridges, went to bayswater for chinese food to fix that crispy duck crave (with complete disappointment), strolled through hyde park to go home. (I love parks!!!)
day 4 (Mon): woke up at 7am, fluffed around in bed then went to hyde park for a quick jog and ended up sleeping on the grass, met up with Alfred and lunched @ Smith’s, went to oxford circus and found out photographer’s gallery is closed on monday, bot stuff for bko @ american apparel, checked out the impossible project & bot a book on polaroid @ urban outfitter, met up with Ellen @ Sacred Cafe for tea, checked out prints charming @ Liberty, walked thru soho, and landed on picadilly’s waterstone for books, back to the hotel to freshen up/pick some stuff up and bused my way to Islington, met up with Tommy @ Angel station 10min late (sorry!), dinner with Tommy, Alison & friend (a pretty flight attendant from Singapore airline) @ Elk in the wood, post dinner drink in a random cafe with a weird waiter. Watched 1 episode of top chef.
day 5 (Tue): walked over to serpentine gallery for Jeff Koons‘ exhibition, went to V&A museum and love seeing so many texture & details & the fairy tale inspired furniture show, got some yummy berries (for me) & a loaf a bread (for bird feeding) @ sainsbury’s, had half a salmon&creamcheese bagel @ bagel factory, went to Alison’s place @ kentish town & joined by tommy, lunch with da girls @ ginger & white (and bot 2 cookbooks from tonia george), backed to hotel to regain energy, out for Ten Ten Tei but was a bit disappointed by the udon (should’ve ordered oyako don), midnight chat @ swiss cottage @ nancy’s place (I love sai sai the cat)
day 6 (Wed): woke up and packed, walked to Motcombs street for breakfast (valerie sucks now), walked through hyde park and fed the birds, taxied over to scp to check out Balzac’s otoman, bused down to regent street and had a major shopping spree @ habitat & national geographic (who would’ve thought), back to hotel to check out and had late lunch on harvey nic’s fifth floor, tea at daylesford while waiting for our ride to the airport…today it started to rain. i might have witnessed the end of london summer 09′.
p.s. I slept for almost 10 hours straight on the flight with no medical aid. This is a first to me…woopeee!
