Haru’s book on stamp carving had become my bedtime stories lately. There’s this urge to keep looking and looking and studying and mesmerizing all her works and techniques…Then followed with carving after carving (plus hot bubble bath after bubble bath to ease the tension on my arms and neck)

Tribute to the St Gallen Embroidery…yet my version is far from delicate…and I accidentally carved out one of the dots so I have to remove the whole lot (hence the wierd white space)…argh!

Chandelier – with some flames missing

And of course Cody

Super sweet on farbic too

This is by far my most satisfied work – boobee the cocker spaniel. A gift for sweet Heather~
p.s. here’s a lovely gift from Heather – a wool felt cody….so so so cute~~~~

Thanks Heather <3

Previously i said i’ve caught the DIY bug. It didn’t stop there…It actually spread out from sewing to stamp carving. I think I have to limit my DIY desire to stay focus.
I guess the beauty of stamp carving is that you don’t need a whole lot of material to begin with and the result is very satisfying. I think my love for stamp rooted back from my childhood, when we have boxes of hello kitty and my melody stamp set. Then it’s the potato stamp carving at school.
And years gone by, I stumbled upon Haru’s and Tsukui Tomoko’s books on stamp carving…

My crooked camera

Skeleton key

My creative journal…I am consolidating my record of my stamps carving, sewing, darkroom record and who knows what tickle my diy fancy later
And nop, I didn’t forget about sewing, I just made a bag hoping to donate it for charity fund raising. But after close inspection I am not really happy with the craftsmanship… maybe next time.

Close up…it also comes with a tiny vanity mirror…it’s a bit too cute for me so let me know if you’d love to adopt it.
oh, if you love stamps and not fancy making your own, go visit petit morpho and you won’t leave empty handed.

As some of you might know, I am a natural therapy freak plus a green person want to be…therefore, this year I am hoping that there could be more action than talk…I used to be so much better when I lived in Vancouver but ever since I came back to Hong Kong the 3Rs just went down hill…thought I’ve been trying to recycle more and bring my own bag, I just feel that there’s more we could do.
So this year, I would like to be more environmentally conscience, more green, get closer to nature, get closer to the spiritual self…will write more about some tips & tricks and things that I try to weave back into my daily life.
I started the year with:
a homemade terrarium. Got the vase from a flea market. Should’ve gotten the bigger one as well…argh!

And I handmade a bday gift for the birthday girl – wishing you a better year ahead girl~

And we’ve (me and bko) gone vegetarian part-time…felt good for the system but the craving could be killing you at times…

Once again, it’s confirmed that I am a person who likes to create…be it photography, skincare, baking and now the creative bug has spread to sewing.
Anyway, since my beloved bko got me a real sewing machine for x’mas…I better make use of it to not let it down. (Gibson, I will get to you this year as well…wait for me)

tada!

My sewing collection expanded after just 1 day in ssp

Immediately whipped up this pin cushion

Project #1: bandana for lucky winner – kiki

Project #5: Dog bed

Project #6: Coat for cody…best for cny
